Fear not working hard and
playing hard Americans.
The days of sweaty, in your
face, greasy, gritty, bold, dangerous
and loud rock n roll are still
alive and well and running through
the veins of Uncle Ted Nugent.
A self-proclaimed "Rosa Parks
with a Gibson Byrdland
guitar", Nugent refuses to sit down
in the back of the politically
correct bus. The Motor City Madman
will only make music on his
own terms and if you don't like that
then you can kiss his ass. Ted
Nugent's first foray into the new
world of the DVD comes with a
sonic bombast on his own
terms and rumor is that it can
sterilize a buffalo at 50 paces.
Speaking of buffalos, the
two-disc DVD starts out with
Nugent riding onstage atop of
a real live one slobbering all
over the stage
(the buffalo -- not Nugent
although I think I saw a little drool
forming on the side of his
mouth as well).
In his working man uniform of
denim shirt, blue jeans and fox tail,
Sweaty Teddy takes control of
the crowd with an
opening swoosh of feedback
that sound like he is giving
an elephant an enema!
The track listing is most
impressive. "Paralyzed", "Stormtroopin'",
"Snakeskin Cowboys" and "Free
For All" are blasted out in the first part of the set.
Basically all the classics
minus "Wango Tango" are included.
What makes the DVD even more
special are the hidden classic Nugent performances.
With a touch of your remote
control you can go from the new millennium concert
and travel back in time to
1978 1979 or 1980
and catch Ted in his heyday
performing "Cat Scratch Fever", 'Free For All",
"Motor City Madhouse" and Wang
Dang Sweet Poontang."
It goes without saying that
the guitar playing is mind-blowing.
Nugent commands control of his
instrument.
The speed and dexterity he
plays with are unequalled.
No one plays a lick like Ted
Nugent.
The rest of the discs contain
all of the Nugent classics including "Stranglehold",
"Yank Me; Crank Me" and Fred
Bear."
There are plenty of extras as
well including Ted
and his band at the Nugent
shooting range,
Ted jamming at his managers
wedding
and a black and white
performance of the Amboy Dukes
performing "Journey To The
Center Of The Mind."
Nugent attacked the making of
this DVD with large doses of attitude;
mercilessness and sheer rock n
roll delirium.
Full Bluntal Nugity is as much
fun watch as it is to listen to.
This event comes highly
recommended and receives the highest
rating Classic Rock Revisited
gives.
Look for Nugent on the
road with Kenny Wayne Shepherd
and ZZ Top throughout the
summer.
