NUGE ROCKOUT 2001
on Tour with Deep Purple and Lynyrd Skynyrd
ANAHEIM CONCERT REVIEW
Thank you Ted. What a show. I saw you back on the Gonzo, Weekend Warrior, and Little Miss Dangerous tours and you are one of my alltime favorites. I couldnt pass up the opportunity to see you play your greatest hits in a little club at Disneyland, the magic kingdom!!
Klstrphyk
Paralyzed
Stormtroopin
Snakeskin
Free for All
Wang Dang
Kiss My Ass
Hey Baby
Yank Me
Fred Bear
Cat Scratch
Stranglehold
Great White Buffalo
Plus lots of improv stuff and some cool jams like "Red House".
Ted looked GREAT. Shows what clean living can do for ya. Came out in Black Jeans with the tail on the back and had on his zebra print shirt and shoes.
Marco was on fire too. Ive seen Marco with Thin Lizzy a couple times and he is a real pro, as good as they get.
The biggest surprise for me was the new Drummer, Tommy. This young guy just tore it up BIG TIME. I was bummed to hear that Aldridge, who ive seen many times, was not playing. But from the first song I was glued to the new guy on Drums. He deserves to be in a big time rock band. Great ATTITUDE!!!
Thanks again guys from a long time fan who hadnt heard these masterpieces live in over 10 years. They dont write songs like these anymore. Thanks for continuing to carry the torch and for speaking your mind about the sad state of the union and California in general, and for giving me "Hope for Tomorrow"!!!
"NO SHIT"!!!!!
A Fan in Palm Springs..............

My family and I arrived at Blossom Music Center just in time! Jessy
and I headed straight to the pavillion to see Ted's show while Marty, Woody
and Dusty opted to sit on the lawn, out of the crowd. Go figure!
Thank goodness Ted started a little late, because his show started
within 3 minutes of Jessy and I taking our seats. Ted roared onto the stage
with a jammin' dose of "Paralyzed." I think my ears were already bleedin'
by his next tune. Songs included Wang Dang Sweet Poontang, Free For All,
(I thought of you Val!)Cat Scratch Fever, a very soulfoul Stranglehold,
Hey Baby, and DAMN! Marco sounded excellent! Wrapping up the show with
Great White Buffalo. No Fred Bear, but that's okay. It was all fantabulous
indeed!
Jessy, being and up and coming drummer with his bad self, was totally mesmerized by Tommy's way of handling the stix! The fact that Tommy's drums are the same brand as jessy's, Ludwig, really boosted the boy's ego! He only wished he was the one to catch the drum stix at the end of the show, when Tommy flipped 'em into the crowd.
My favorite part of Ted's show was the style of the guitar playin' with the da Nuge's facial expressions, as always, with all that hair flyin' in the air. Ted and Marco were great as they stood side by side playin' hard and fast. I swear them guitars were starting to smoke. I only wish Ted had more time to carry on! Awesome!
Deep Purple sounded great and played about an hour, returning for 1 encore with the tune "Hush." It was during this show that Jessy and i joined the family on the lawn, where we inflated some beach balls and smacked them into the crowd. I am always the one with the beach balls.
In between Deep Purple and Lynyrd Skynyrd's show, we watched as a couple got into an arguement, some folks marching thru the crowd waving their confederate flags, 2 female teeny boppers scratch and hiss at each other, LOL! Too funny! And let's not forget about the drunken fool that is always in the crowd, that was being hauled out of the park by 3 security guards. I love to "people watch" at these events.
The weather held out for us, with some lightning in the distance. It finally began to sprinle half way through Skynyrd's show. Some of their songs were GimmeeThree Steps, Simple Kind Of Man (which grabbed the crowd's attention, and the pavillion and lawn filled with the small flames from lighters. They ended the show with Sweet Home Alabama, which is when we departed, as we knew they would be back for an encore and we could beat the traffic out of the park.
We had a great time (my kids are STILL sleeping) and all 3 performers did a fantastic job playin'and singin'!
In my humble opinion, Ted stole the show! Short and sweet is what it was! He left us "craving" more Nugity, but we'll get another dose in September at the Ashland County Fair. ...and DAMNIT! I wanna hear "Fred Bear" and "Gimmee just a little..." Ok?
...Hey! I think I'm startin' to hear again!
Any questions?
