Ted Decapitates Raleigh!!! by BB John4
First of all if you don't want to know what Uncle Ted's setlist is, go away now! It has a few surprises.
Arrived at Alltel with my patented no
ticket approach near the end of KWS and promptly found a guy hawking an 8th row
center seat. Said his buddy hurt his back and couldn't make it. Bad mistake,
because Ted would have fixed him right up with some Gibson Chiropractic
Manipulations. $10 under face and I'm in. A few minutes later Ray starts singing
and I tell all the dumbass sitters around me that when "America the Beautiful"
starts, Ted is not far behind. They all gave me a glassy look and smiled.
Ted then went on a rampage for just over an hour, Barry was great, playing
really hard and looking happy to be there. Tommy was devastating. His endless
high handed smashes
will one day cement him as one of the finest R&R
drummers. IMO, he is now.
Ted's guitar playing gets better and better and
better AND BETTER!! There is not a microsecond of any song that he is not
cramming a bloodcurdling riff into. No lulls, fluff, just .50 caliber,
unbridled, raw as it gets, greasy, butt ugly rock and roll. He laid the wood
across the bridge of my nose, and I was happy to accept. Loud as hell, I mean
loud as HELL! Tonight I accept my punishment again in Charlotte. Hope to see you
there.
Maybe slightly out of order. Didn't write them down.

TRIPLE FEEDBACK, a salute, and to the bus
What a show.
As I had just seen ZZ the prior Sunday, and
seeing how they could not possibly follow that carnage, I headed for home, full
as a tick with the satisfaction that once again, I was privileged to see the
greatest guitar showman, still going strong in his fifties.
Thanks again
Ted. See you tonite.
