Q: You're an avid outdoorsman and continue to maintain a blistering
tour pace. Do you have any fitness secrets for maintaining your
youthful vigor?
Ted Nugent: My defiance against the joke of so called
peer pressure, insisting on being clean and sober my entire life is
obviously Job One for anybody who honestly cares about quality of life.
My outdoors, ranching lifestyle keeps me active and grounded, and
ultimately my passion for hunting provides mind, body, soul and spirit
cleansing fortification that is unrivaled. My life is driven by spirit,
attitude and venison.
Q: Next season you'll be running for President on The Simpsons... Any political plans in real life?
Ted Nugent: The purest, most important politics on
earth is this sacred experiment in self government, and as a qualified
"we the people" guitar player, I have been increasing my activism and
participation every year for many years. If the call from my fellow
Americans becomes strong enough, there is no limit to what degree I
involve myself.
Q: Which makes the best grilling: Bison, boar or deer?
Ted Nugent: All wild game meat is superior to any
domestic flesh, and since that is all we eat, we have developed
unlimited approaches to preparing this pure protein. It is all
spectacular, but a deer of the year is heaven on earth.
Q: You're somewhat of a modern day Renaissance man, having had
success with TV, Radio, Books and many other ventures in addition to
your music career. Outside of playing the guitar, which of these other
pursuits are you most passionate about?
Ted Nugent: I am manically passionate about life
itself, so I attack each day with an animal fire. Everything in my life
turns me on and stimulates me no end. I love and crave it all.
Q: The Pistons just fired John Kuester. What else do they have to do to get back into the post season?
Ted Nugent: I don't pay attention to spectator sports,
but my sons are gungho athletes and are big fans of the Pistons, and
tell me they need to completely reorganize and put together a strong
front court. Like everything in life, the key players have to be the
biggest, baddest most warrior like athletes possible. That's how I have
always put my bands together. I'm sure its the same for every winning
endeavor/team. I love my birth city of Detroit, so I hope they get back
on top ASAP.
Q: You're known for being an ardent anti drug campaigner. Having come
of age in the sixties, was there a particular experience that put you
in this path?
Ted Nugent: It's all rather simple really. Step one was
being raised properly by hard core disciplinarian parents. Step Two was
paying attention to my surroundings and the obvious cause and effect of
drug abusing hippies all around. Step Three was so craving the best
music possible and dreaming of hunting season that I demanded smart
choices of myself so as to maximize the excellence in everything I do.
Altogether now-DUH!
Q: Any loincloth wearing tips for aspiring metal frontmen?
Ted Nugent: Kill your own.
Q: For us guitar nerds, tell us why you love the Gibson Byrdland...
Ted Nugent: Sound, tone, playability, animal breeding feedback to die for, and they are just so damn pretty!
Q: Word has it that you suck on Guitar Hero... How is this possible?
Ted Nugent: I am an addicted pragmatist. Make believe turns me off.
Q: When can we expect the next Ted Nugent release?
Ted Nugent: I have two killer new songs for free download on my website-
I STILL BELIEVE and I LOVE MY BBQ. Killer American R&B&R&R
that I am very proud of. Not sure when an entire CD will be completed
but I hope to hell by spring of 2012.

Gonzo rocker and hunting buff Ted makes his feature film debut in Beer For My Horses. A comedy, it tells the story of Joe Bill "Rack" Racklin, an Oklahoma deputy sheriff who, along with his fellow deputies and their best friends, defy the local sheriff to embark on an outrageous road trip and end up matching wits with a Mexican drug lord. Produced jointly by CMT Films and Toby Keith and directed by Michael Salomon, the film hits theatres August 8, 2008.
While the feature
takes its name from Keith's hit song, the country star is quick to
point out that the movie’s is nothing like the video for the
song. "The movie is more of a comedy, a tip of the hat to Burt
Reynolds," Keith explained to the crowd of 40 or so journalists
who packed the film’s press conference. "I wanted it be 48
Hours meets Smoky and the Bandit." Writing the screenplay, he
added, "was something I
wanted to prove I could do. It was
one
of the most creative things I've ever done,
and I had great
time doing it."
Ted plays an officer of the law that has a bow and arrow —and isn't afraid to use it. He brings to life the character of Skunk Tarver — a longhaired, smartass, defiant, over gunned, rock-n-roll bow hunting deputy sheriff who’s dedicated to bagging bad guys. Ted made sure Skunk’s ammo was killer-quality, having him use both his MARTIN FireCat and his Sims DZ32.
During the film, Ted’s character shoots a stuffed donkey in the ass during a huge drug bust and zaps a few bad guys with arrows, including one very exciting flaming arrow, which utilizes the same technology that Ted uses when he fires off one of his signature Gold Tip Zebra Nuge arrows in concert.
When jumps, falls and leaps were a bit too much for Ol' Nuge, a professional stuntman, and fellow Michiganiac, named Dan did a grand job of capturing the spirit.
Keith and Salomon did all the casting, assembling a terrific group of actors that includes everyone from Claire Forlani, Barry Corbin and Tom Skerritt to Willie Nelson and Mel Tillis.
Keith, Rodney Carrington and Ted play the local authorities in Jackson County, OK where they raise hell with drug runners and bad guys. The plot goes into high gear after the do-gooders take a Mexican drug czar's brother prisoner. In retaliation, the drug cartel kidnaps Keith's character’s girlfriend (Forlani) and our good ol' boys suddenly find themselves war with the gangs in Mexico.
Toby and Ted bonded as BloodBrothers while on a USO tour in Iraq and Afghanistan with their American military heroes and subsequently the pair toured the USA together and became good friends.
"(Ted) is an incredible person," Keith said of working with Nugent. "He has a magnificent vocabulary; however, he can be as rude and crude as anybody who walks the earth." At one point, Keith added, a cottontail rabbit crossed the movie set. Nugent, who still had his crossbow in hand from the scene they had just finished filming, shot the animal and gutted it, right in front of all the Hollywood types there on location.
The film was made around Santa Fe and Albuquerque and whilst in the state of New Mexico, Ted got some fantastic footage that could very well appear in future episodes of his Spirit of the Wild TV show on Outdoor Channel. Ted was quickly hooked on the New Mexico’s beauty and now wants others to know about it. "New Mexico is probably in the top dozen states for out-of-state hunters to enjoy elk, mountain lions, turkey," he said. "It should be No. 1."

EUROPEAN ROCKTOUR 2008 -The Great White Buffalo Has Spoken by Ted Nugent
A sea of rowdy Spanish rock-n-roll
fans swayed en masse like a human wave of angry surf. Mostly they
were young men in denim and leather, many with long, black hair and
plenty of facial piercings to accent the macabre side of this thing
called Heavy Metal. Sweaty bodies against sweaty bodies proved their
dedication to their beloved musical dreams, and they were smiling,
laughing, dancing and clearly having one hell of a grand time. It was
beautiful really, except for the strange and painful shortage of
female fans compared to American audiences. Godbless America.
Thin
Lizzy, a killer band of world class virtuosos had just completed a
rousing set of classic songs, executed with animal energy by
legendary Arkansas drummer, Tommy Aldridge and the soulful
pyrotechnic guitar fire and amazing vocals of Whitesnake's John
Sykes. The crowd went wild even after a long, hot sun burning day in
central Spain. This annual Monsters of Rock festival attracted
hardcore rockfans from Barcelona, Madrid, San Sebastian and from all
across the Spanish countryside for a rare shot at well known bands
from around the world. Waiting in the wings were Deep Purple, Twisted
Sister and the English band Saxon.
A
beautiful cloudless blue sky awaited the snarling R&B band from
Detroit, and I clenched my fist to perform our pre-concert ritual of
spiritual fist-punching with my ferocious Funkbrother bandmates Mick
Brown on drums and Greg Smith on bass guitar. Like young wolves
preparing for the hunt, we couldn't wait to mount the stage for our
nightly MotorCity Madhouse musical assault, knowing these foreigners
were dying to witness the ultimate soundtrack of freedom and
defiance. The enormous overpowered PA system was humming and
crackling with amped up electricity and my German soundman Frank knew
he was about to G-force the throngs into sonic hysteria. You want to
rock? I hope you can handle this full on real American rock my
friends.
We unleashed The Beast!
Owning
their souls with the definitive lovesong Wango Tango, the crowd came
unglued and danced like they were born again. The entire sea of
humanity had their arms up and fists clenched grinding to the Motown
pummel, and I could not have been happier. Mick's drums sounded like
dangerous thunder, Greg's bass like an industrial earthquake
permeating skeletons for miles around. And my effervescent Gibson
Byrdland guitar, well let's just say God was smiling at the ultimate
utilization of fiery tone from my hand carved Northern spruce hollow
body beast, delivering what can only be described as electric guitar
perfection. We throttled our Spanish friends beyond their wildest
dreams.
With ultra-tight,
energized performances of Free For All, Stormtroopin, Wang Dang Sweet
Poontang, KLSTRPHNKY, Love Grenade, Cat Scratch Fever, and
Stranglehold, the event was on the precipice of losing all control.
It was phenomenal rock-n-roll at its finest. We came back to unleash
The Great White Buffalo and I thought the huge crowd would dance
themselves into a puddle of foaming sweat and joy. As a musician, I
was genuinely moved to once again take part in such a consummate
shared communication of connecting music from my incredible band.
That would have been more than enough.
Then
it happened. With all the passion and fire I could muster, I sang the
spiritual lyrics of the defiant American buffalo overcoming
overwhelming odds, slammed the final chords of the song from my
gorgeous white Gibson, held my baby over my head, and I swear to God
the sky went from blue to black, a howling wind nearly ripped the
Lakota war bonnet off my head, the PA system began whipping to and
fro, and the entire stage began to shake violently. With our beyond
intense hour long set complete, and The Great White Buffalo
triumphant, my band and I were escorted off the stage amidst not only
a wildly cheering audience, but swirling debris and the beginnings of
big, scattered raindrops. We barely made it the 70 yards to the large
metal building when it struck. Violent winds tore the roof off the
stage, PA speaker columns and huge overhead lighting trusses broke
loose and smashed to the ground, a tsunami of hail rained down upon
everything and everyone as the scared crowd ran wild looking for
shelter from the storm. Amplifiers and band equipment were being
destroyed by wind and hail, and it was a sight to behold.
I
sat in my dressing room, glowing yet exhausted, with a towel around
my wet head listening to the hail smash on the metal roof and people
scrambling to save gear and themselves. It was wild.
Suffice
it to say, there would be no performance by the other three
headlining bands, all of whom traveled the globe to get here and
waited all day for their turn to rock. The stage was wrecked, the
audience dispersed into the hinterland, and the Monsters of Rock
festival was officially shut down.
Maybe I should look
into my dance moves while wearing the Indian headdress and singing
the Native American themesong of the defiant Great White Buffalo. If
that was a raindance I did, I should probably back it down a notch or
two. Maybe not. Hey Eruo baby, that's what we call American
Rock-n-roll, and don't you ever forget it.
6000th NUGE RockOut - Congratulations!!!

TED NUGENT Ramps Up In 2008 Like Never Before - May 15, 2008 (Blabbermouth)
No
rocker embodies the "Spirit of the Wild" more than Ted
Nugent, and he's ramping up in 2008 like never before.
His
multi-cultural ammo: a new CD and DVD ("Sweden Rocks"),
http://www.eaglerockent.com/ecards/Nugent-Sweden/video.htm
http://www.eaglerockent.com/ecards/Nugent-Sweden/index.htm
book
("Ted, White & Blue: The Nugent Manifesto"), film
("Beer For My Horses") and concert tour ("Rolling
Thunder 2008 Tour").
There's
also Ted's new song "I Am The NRA", which he'll premiere at
the 2008 NRA National Convention in Louisville, Kentucky May 17-18
where's he's a presenter. Ted was recently re-elected for his fifth
term on the Board of Directors of the NRA.
Rock's
ultimate guitar frontman has just released an incendiary new live
album "Sweden Rocks" — recorded during his EuroBlitz
06 Tour at the Sweden Rock Festival — with the companion DVD
out June 10, both via Eagle Rock Entertainment.
His
latest book — comprising 10 chapters on how to fix America —
is titled "Ted, White & Blue: The Nugent Manifesto" and
is due in August via Regnery Publishing. Texas Governor Rick Perry
salutes Ted in the book as a "human tornado" and goes on to
say: "He lives life at mach speeds, boldly pouring himself into
matters deeply personal to him. His efforts to support U.S. troops
wounded in the defense of freedom and his selfless devotion to
children with life-threatening illnesses are just two indications of
the gentle heart that beats beneath the surface of this wild-eyed
warrior."
Ted
will make his feature film debut this summer in the film "Beer
For My Horses", which stars Toby Keith and also features Rodney
Carrington, Claire Forlani, Tom Skerritt and Willie Nelson. The film
will be released August 8, 2008 in movie theatres in selected cities.
Filmed on location in New Mexico, it follows the exploits of small
town deputies and best friends who defy the local sheriff to embark
on an outrageous road trip to save one of their girlfriends from
kidnappers.
As
he approaches his amazing 6000th gig this summer, Ted — whose
career spans five decades and multi-platinum sales exceeding 35
million albums — has announced a new concert trek that marks
his 50th tour. The "Rolling Thunder 2008 Tour" kicks off
June 7 and runs through Sept. 27, including a massive July 4 blowout
in his Detroit hometown at the DTE Energy Center. The itinerary
includes an array of concerts in Europe July 5-16. Backed by his
rock-solid bandmates Greg Smith (bass) and Mick Brown (drums), Ted
will roar through his classics (including his immortal
"Stranglehold", named the 1 guitar lick by listeners of
103.5 The Fox, Denver) and songs from "Love Grenade", his
35th album that was released last fall (Eagle Rock
Entertainment).
Meanwhile,
it's been another hit season for "Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild"
(airing on the Outdoor Channel), big winners in not just one, but two
categories at the 8th annual Golden Moose Awards. For the fourth
time, Ted and (his wife) Shemane Nugent were voted "Fan Favorite
Hunting Series," as well as "Fan Favorite Hosts" in a
celebration held by Outdoor Channel during the 2008 Shooting, Hunting
and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show in Las Vegas.

Rest in Peace - Cliff Davies

Cliff Davies died on April 13 2008
Cliff Davies was a world class virtuoso and musical genius of the highest order. His special touch, talent and spirit permeated each and every one of my classics with not only his supremely soulful drumming, but also with his vocal guidance and arrangement creativity. As a live performer he was every guitarist's dream rhythm god, driving my high energy MotorCity R&B rock to its most soulful effect. His work ethic, dedication and always wonderful sense of humor played an enormous positive role in a very important time of my life. His friendship glowed with goodwill and decency. We have lost one of the greatest soulbrother Funkbrother BloodBrothers of alltimes.
In my music and in the wind, he's still alive.

ROCKS BY TED NUGENT:
New York, NY
(April 3, 2008)—Eagle Rock Entertainment will release Sweden
Rocks by Ted Nugent on CD May 13 [pre-book date April 23, Retail List
Price $13.98]. The concert was captured at the 2006 Sweden
Rock Festival, featuring the singer/songwriter/guitarist with drummer
Mick Brown and bassist Barry Sparks. A DVD of
the show will be released June 10.
One would be
hard-pressed to name another intrinsically American Hard Rocker who
backs up his talk with surefire action like Nugent. His non-musical
pursuits have garnered as much ink as his hellfire rock'n'roll.
Outdoorsman, hunter, Conservative Political Activist, and
controversial spokesperson on behalf of The Second Amendment to the
U.S. Constitution, Nugent epitomizes and embodies the ethic of the
outspoken pioneer taking on all comers in all matter of debates…while
still making damn sure to rock non-stop and without regret. Ted
Nugent is an American Original.
But it's his shotgun style of
guitar playing that has endeared him to his huge fanbase. And it's on
a stage where that pepper spray of staccato notes is best
appreciated. Although he has admitted to partial hearing loss due to
his close proximity to massive amounts of ampage, he still cavorts
about onstage like a man possessed. And his fans love it. In Sweden,
in 2006, he's still at the height of his powers and, if the reaction
from the crowd is an indication, he hasn't lost one iota of his
arsenal.
Nugent split from his Detroit band The Amboy Dukes after
their major hit (“Journey To The Center Of Your Mind”).
As a solo artist, he has racked up an impressive string of hit
singles and albums. With homes in both Michigan and Texas, he has
maintained his public role as a noted author, columnist, and
political activist while still selling over 35 million albums in his
career, also famous for playing the Gibson Byrdland guitar. The
Gibson guitar company has since named a model for him.

LOVE GRENADE TOUR REVIEW by TED!
Brutal. Ferociously animal brutal. There is no question nor debate that young Ted was a frightening force to reckon with. Godbless youth. However it is more than apparent that this oldbuck at 59 in 07 is delivering a more skeletal rearranging R&B&R&R hi-energy pummeling that would scare even youngTed. It is clearly at an alltime intensity in your city. Mick & Greg, like Clufetos, Sparks, Aldridge, Mendoza et al have perfectly zeroed in on THE BEAST of the groovefirehammer like never before in my outrageous muscial orgy career. Godbless the FunkBrother SoulBrother BloodBrothers all. Journey To The Center of Your Mind as an opener is unleashed funfury. An unprecedented throttlemaster Free For All is pure piledriver punch with our maxhumping the relentless unison powerpunch 16th note pedaltone hammer. Just insane. Weekend Warriors has a Motown meets maniac whiteboy garageband velocity to die for. Wango Tango is simply downright goofy in its inescapable hyperdance suckerpunch. The guitar!! Dear God THE GUITAR goes where Lewis & Clark wouldnt take Sacajaweah nekkid. Wang Dang Sweet Poontang proves that James Brown & his Famous Flames & Wayne Cochran & The CC Ryders & Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels are alive & well. Followed with a genuflection to blackness on Stay With Me blues celebrsatikon from Love Grenade galvinizes the races perfectly. THE GUITAR!! MTHRFKR! Baby Please Dont Go 50 years later with the incredible insertion of the tribal masterpiece Geronimo & Me from Love Grenade, may very well be our favorite musical adventure of alltimes. Outlando. RawDogs & WarHogs is the battlecry of freemen everywhere. SoulMan & Hey Baby are too black for my machineguns, Love Grenade & GirlScout Cookies are finally gettin the crackers to dance with some BBQ sauce on the greazyass twostep. Finally. Still Raising Hell celebrates the defiant human spirit like Rosa Parks with an M4, Need You Bad is so gd hyper as to defy catigorezation, then the almighty danger4 of FRED BEAR, STRANGLEHOLD, CATSCRATCHFEVER & GREAT WHITE BUFFALO, most demonstrably with flaming arrows & detonated Byrdlands is typically much much more than mere mortals can handle. What in God's name is it all? I know. Do you?

I cannot describe the sheer fiery energy & spirit burning off this record. It defines me. This is my signature piece. Cant wait for ya all to pull the pin.
You will feel better than youve ever felt in your life. I believe."
